The daughter of a Spanish bullfighter, Paz Vega dreamed of becoming an actress after seeing a play at the age of 15. She took her grandmother's name as her own, and began acting on Spanish language TV shows, included what some consider the Spanish version of Friends, called 7 Vidas. Her big break came when she stared in the erotic Sex and Lucia, where she appears in numerous nude scenes.
Her first American film was Adam Sandler's movie Spanglish, where she was given an "Introducing" credit despite having appeared in 13 movies previous. Currently she is starring in Frank Miller's adaptation of the classic comic book hero The Spirit playing the role of Plaster of Paris, along side Scarlet Johansson and Eva Mendes. Paz is married to Orson Salazar and the two have one child together.
