Bio

Bianca Jasmine Lawson (born March 20, 1979) is an American actress. Lawson was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Denise (née Gordy) and Richard Lawson, a soap opera actor. Lawson started acting at the age of nine.

She has appeared in television commercials for Barbie and Revlon and in several television shows. Most prominent of these being Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where she portrays Kendra Young, another vampire Slayer who is awakened as a result of the temporary death of title character Buffy Summers in the first season finale.

Arguably, her second most noteworthy appearance was on Dawson's Creek, another television series on The WB, where she portrayed Nikki Green, the daughter of the high school's new Principal and introduced as a fierce competitor to Dawson Leery, that show's title character. She has also appeared in Saved by the Bell: The New Class and films such as Save the Last Dance and Breakin' All the Rules.

She was in the pilot episode of the critically acclaimed short lived teen drama , "My So-Called Life" featuring Claire Danes and Jared Leto. She has appeared in numerous television commercials and was featured in The Artist Formerly Known as Prince and the R&B music group, The Boys music videos. Bianca appeared in Disney Channel's "Hollywood Lives" which showed the real life struggle of several young actors including R&B recording star, Brandy Norwood (Brandy). Bianca guest starred on the WB series, "Sister, Sister" and was a cast member of UPN's "Goode Behavior"(1996-1997) which starred Sherman Hemsley best known from "The Jeffersons" and "Amen."
